Sebastian Sons is a senior researcher at CARPO and the organisation’s representative in Berlin, specialising in Saudi Arabia and Gulf political economy.

His work covers regional transformation, labour migration and cooperation with Arab donors. He studied Islamic studies, modern history and political science in Berlin and Damascus, trained as a journalist and previously advised a regional GIZ programme in Jordan.
