Biography
Professional biography
Nabil Al-Khowaiter is Global Engagement Executive for Worley Energy, Chemicals, Resources. From June 2016 to May 2018, he served as Senior Advisor to the Saudi Arabian Minister of Energy, advising on energy, industry, mining and climate policy.
His earlier leadership roles include serving as CEO of Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures, Managing Director of the Aramco Entrepreneurship Center and Director of Collaboration at the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC). During his career at Saudi Aramco, he worked across business development, technology planning, knowledge management and strategic transformation.
Before returning to Saudi Aramco, he was Vice President for Business Development at Delta Oil, contributing to major international energy projects including Azerbaijan’s “Contract of the Century” and work related to the proposed Trans-Afghan pipeline. He also founded technology and media ventures in Istanbul and served as Managing Director of Middle East News, part of the MBC Group.
Al-Khowaiter holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University and completed graduate coursework in international economics at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He is fluent in Arabic and English and has working knowledge of Turkish.
