Professional biography

Jakob Hensing is Head of Political Economy at the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi), an independent, non-profit think tank in Berlin. His work explores how technology and power politics are reshaping the global economy and how Europe can navigate these developments.

Before joining GPPi in 2022, he worked for more than five years in management consulting with McKinsey & Company and Orphoz Public, McKinsey’s public-sector branch in Germany. He holds a doctorate and a master’s degree from the University of Oxford and a bachelor’s degree from Jacobs University Bremen.
